Sydney Crouthers
Colleges of Humanities and Social and Behavioral Sciences
Sydney is interested in human rights, migration, social movements, and translation and
interpretation. She is passionate about bilingual communication and cultural exchange. She
hopes this internship helps her amplify borderland voices while gaining professional experience
that supports her goal of a career in translation and cross-cultural advocacy.
For Sydney, language bridges cultural divides and creates access for underrepresented
communities. She aims to develop research and storytelling skills by helping to narrate, collect,
and share the narratives, art, and experiences of marginalized communities at the US-Mexico
border. Also, she hopes to strengthen her analytical and communication abilities.
Sydney will work at U of A Southwest Center during the Spring.
