Fronteridades Graduate Fellowships

The Fronteridades Graduate Fellowship Program supports current UArizona graduate students to carry out interdisciplinary humanities-centered research projects, and creative scholarly activities focused on the U.S.-Mexico border.

The Fronteridades Graduate Fellows represent diverse disciplines, including Geography, Journalism, Art, Music, Education, Anthropology, Spanish & Portuguese, Mexican American Studies, and Latin American Studies. Consequently, this research spans diverse methodologies, from ethnographic interview research to critical archive research, collaborative dance testimonies, and bi-national co-created music composition.

Through experiential learning opportunities, graduate fellows integrate dialogue, critical reflections, theoretical contextualization, and connections of experience to broader sociocultural issues. As a result, the fellowship enhances the fellows’ skills, community connections, and expertise while further preparing them for their career path.
