Fronteridades Faculty Fellowships

The Mellon-Fronteridades Faculty Fellowship program supports UArizona faculty conducting interdisciplinary border research to broaden and deepen our understanding of the narratives, experiences, knowledges, histories, performances, spaces, and heritages that shape and are shaped by the U.S.-Mexico borderlands.

The Mellon-Fronteridades faculty fellows are tenured, tenure-track, career-track, and research-track (e.g., research scientists) faculty at the University of Arizona conducting U.S.-Mexico border research in the humanities, humanistic social sciences, the arts, and related fields. The fellowship enhances fellow’s skills, community connections, and experiences while further preparing them for their career path.

Faculty fellows build new public understanding and interpretation of the U.S.-Mexico border through their work, expanding border learning. In addition, the fellowship creates an opportunity for experiential learning in and off the US-Mexico border for scholars across fields and disciplines.
