Learning Together with AI: A Human-AI Story from the Frontlines of Inclusive Education
In this interactive zine, Learning Together with AI, Vibha will document and reflect
on her internship at Mindly, a digital platform that uses AI to support neurodivergent learners by
tracking behavioral and academic progress. A zine is a small, creative, and often self-published
booklet or digital artifact that blends narrative, visuals, and personal voice — making it ideal for
expressive, multimedia storytelling.
Vibha's project explores a central question: Where does human insight remain irreplaceable in an
AI-powered education system? Through illustrated storytelling, embedded audio reflections,
and visual walkthroughs, the zine will explore how Mindly automates parts of the reporting
process and how this compares to the highly contextual, human-led interpretation she has
witnessed at Elina, an inclusive education initiative Vibha has been involved with for several years.
Drawing on her unique position as a bridge between these two systems, the project will
highlight the limitations and strengths of AI when applied to deeply personal and socially
embedded learning environments. Themes of ethics, empathy, and inclusive design will guide
the zine's development. It will serve both as a creative artifact and a reflective tool for
educators, designers, and technologists. By combining storytelling and systems thinking, this
project will emphasize the importance of human judgment in shaping equitable, responsive
educational technology.
As a student of neuroscience and data science with experience in inclusive education, this
project allows Vibha to integrate academic training with fieldwork and storytelling. It will
deepen her understanding of ethical AI design, interdisciplinary communication, and accessible
media production. The zine will be shared with educators and parents in the Elina network,
serve as a reflective piece for developers at Mindly, and contribute to broader conversations
about human-AI collaboration in education. By amplifying diverse voices and drawing from
real-world experience, this project aims to influence how we design for inclusion in the age of AI.
