The 2nd Annual Bilingual Initiatives Symposium (#BIS25)

When
The 2nd Annual Bilingual Initiatives Symposium (BIS25), proudly hosted by the HSI #ABCHigherEd project. This one-day symposium seeks to foster meaningful conversations on bilingualism (English/Spanish) within the University of Arizona, particularly in the context of a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) and Borderlands. BIS25 organizers invite you to participate by presenting your projects, initiatives, or work-in-progress, and by attending to connect with potential collaborators and stakeholders across campus.
The symposium will explore the significance of bilingualism in education, focusing on its role in fostering bi/multi/cultural understanding and inclusivity. It will also highlight successful bilingual initiatives and programs implemented across campus, discuss challenges and opportunities in promoting bilingualism and multiculturalism within higher education, and encourage collaboration among faculty, staff, students, and community members interested in bilingual (English-Spanish) education and initiatives. The event aims to advocate for bilingualism and multiculturalism within HSI, fostering a strong community of educators and professionals in higher education.
We encourage you to submit your proposals and RSVP for the event! We look forward to your participation in this exciting event and hope to see you there!
