In “Los que regresan/Those who return” commissioned by Teatro Dignidad, renowned Mexican playwright Hugo Salcedo, examines the current immigration experience of families targeted by ICE. In this moving new work and world premiere, generational trauma collides with the cruelty of our immigration system as Salcedo deftly paints a portrait of one family’s inability to cope with the fear of detention and forced self-deportation.
The Confluencenter is proud to co-sponsor this play, whose exploration of migration, belonging, and community reflects the Fronteridades mission of diversifying the perspectives and narratives that shape the borderlands region.
The play, directed by Eva Zorrilla Tessler & Alida Holguín Gunn, will include a series of panels and talkbacks, after Sunday Matinees on 11/08/26 & 11/15/26, pertaining to current policies and their direct and environmental impact on local and international communities.
