Join us for Show & Tell: Los Tucsonenses: A 21st Century Vision for "MACCC", part of the Mexican American/Chicano Cultural Center dialogue series.
This gathering explores the history of Tucson’s Mexican American/Chicano community and the generations of entrepreneurs, civic leaders, and visionaries who helped shape the city into a commercial and cultural center of the Southwest. Through their efforts, Tucson became a place defined by connection, exchange, and community presence—an enduring foundation that continues to influence the city today.
Featuring a dynamic panel with Tom Sheridan (Author of Los Tucsonenses; Professor Emeritus of Anthropology), Betty Villegas (AZ State Representative, Legislative District 20), and Jose Jimenez (Owner, Petroglyphs). Moderated by our very own Confluencenter Director, Dr. Javier Duran!
Join us at Playground Bar & Lounge—the original homes of the Show & Tell series—and be part of this continuing dialogue. Come be part of this ongoing vision for a cultural center that honors Tucson’s Mexican heritage and imagine how it might take shape now.
Mark your calendar, register today, and come be part of the dialogue!
