Confluencenter's Fronteridades: Nurturing Collaborative Intersection in the U.S.-Mexico Border, a seven-year project funded by the Mellon Foundation, is preparing for its final chapter and inviting U of A graduate students and Southern Arizona community members to apply for two grant initiatives: In This Frontera Moment and Confluencias: Voices and Visions of the Arizona-Sonora Border.

In This Frontera Moment

The Confluencenter for Creative Inquiry is now accepting proposals for the Fronteridades Graduate Microgrant: In This Frontera Moment.

Are you a currently enrolled University of Arizona graduate student? This $2,000 microgrant supports interdisciplinary projects that respond to the rapidly evolving realities shaping life in the U.S.–Mexico borderlands. We welcome proposals that document, analyze, or creatively engage the urgent impacts of shifting immigration and border conditions.

Grounded in Fronteridades: Nurturing Collaborative Intersections in the U.S.–Mexico Border, this program centers lived experience, amplifies underrepresented voices, and fosters collaboration across the arts, humanities, and social sciences.

The deadline to submit proposals is March 27, 2026, at 11:59 PM Mountain Time
